An earthquake that has the magnitude of almost 6.00 on Richter scale, affected Yuma and Imperial counties and North Mexico. The fire fighter s and police officers have not cited any emergency situation as the result of the earthquake. The epicenter of the earth quake has been located at “13 miles northwest of Guadalupe Victoria, BC, Mexico”.

As the news are pouring in the picture is still not clear. As for the initial damage reports a telecommunications building has been severely damaged.

In the wake of the earthquake cell phone’s signals dropped making it impossible for the people to inquire if the relative or loved ones are safe and sound.

Reportedly some of the older houses got hit and were damaged. An elderly sitting on a rocking chair describes the earthquake to have rocked his chair suddenly.

The Yuma residents describing the earthquake have said that it is for the first time that they have experienced an earthquake of such magnitude.

Another resident described that during the earthquake his roof seemed to have slipped few inches down and he would have to get tit examined by the insurance company.

And yet another resident complained that he has two huge cracks in his wall. The cracks are wide enough that the scene outside becomes visible through the cracks.

Officers at emergency services asked people to not to call 911 in the wake of the quake unless and until some serious issue needs to be attended to.
