As the weather gets colder in Cleveland and other regions of Northeast Ohio, local channels WKYC and Fox 8 announces school closings. WKYC is keeping the residents updated about any change in weather advisories. A list of all schools and educational institutes, which have been closed due to bad weather, is uploaded on the website of WKYC. Parents, students, and teachers can also subscribe to text alert service for schools closings updates. According to WKYC, weather advisories have been extended till Tuesday evening for Portage and Trumbull while snow warnings have been issued for some northeastern regions of Ohio including Summit, Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Lake, and Geauga. Cold weather and snow is not only making the travelling difficult but many schools have also reported of having difficulties to turn on the bus engines. In many areas, many buses had to be jump started. Donna Carpenter, spokeswoman for Cleveland County School System, says that the administration is taking extraordinary precautions with the schools buses. She also told Cleveland County School System is conducting classes as normal and hoped to continue this. Like Cleveland County School System, some other institutes are also having classes as normal and do not have any plans for emergency closings or delays.

All schools were supposed to be opened after the holiday season is over in U.S. Students, workers, and school children headed towards their grind in various states while the harsh weather conditions still persist. Chilly winds and snowy weather is bringing the temperature to almost zero during the daytime in most regions of Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky. The weather forecasts of lake effect and more snow have forced the schools district administration to announce closings in some regions of different U.S. states including Cleveland County, Ohio and its neighboring regions.

The duration of Schools closing due to bad weather is uncertain and will affect the normal academic schedule.
