Seems like the Groundhog Day prediction was quite right as many American cities are experiencing a new wave of snow storms which is causing schools closings, road blockings, and power shut downs.

A new winter storm has hit Minnesota and North Dakota on Weekend. Local stations like WCCO reported that more than 3 inches of snow was accumulated on the roads of Minnesota and North eastern regions of Dakota. Local station including WCCO 4 has been reporting weather forecasts according to which the residents should expect light snowfall on Monday too. The weather agencies are expecting a total of 3-6 inches of snow in the area by Monday afternoon. The amount could increase in the southeastern region of North Dakota.

Areas like Austin and Mower County have been issued winter storm warnings.

Snow Causes Road blockings and School Closings in Minnesota and Neighboring Regions

Drivers are facing difficult road conditions as roads are covered with ice. The snowy weather has prompted schools closings or delays in many areas of Minnesota. National Weather Service has issued travel advisories for many regions. Schools in Dilworth-Felton were opened with a delay of two hours while many schools cancelled the classes for Monday and Tuesday in the wake of dangerous road conditions caused by snow storm.
