The American Idol season 9 premiered on Fox TV Network, it has been speculated that Simon Cowell, one of the main judges of the reality show may not come back for the new season after his announcement on Monday that he is leaving the show to bring the most famous “The X Factor” to United States in 2011. But on the premier of the new season he was once again alongside Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and guest judge Victoria Beckham.
While the first episode as predicted featured some wrack auditions, possible star singers and tearjerker segments, the presence of Victoria Beckham added a new flavour to the reality shows. On the other hand, Simon Cowell’s behind the scene news made the premiering episode of the reality show more dynamic and interesting.
However, this is the first season of American Idol to kick off without Paula Abdul. The former band member of “Spice Girls” Victoria Beckham spiced up the night after she confronted Simon Cowell about his continuous eye-rolling.
Victoria Beckham asked Simon “Why do you do that eye-rolling?” after the audition of Bosa Mora, a 22-year-old from Boston, Beckham then added, “you need so much nerve to stand there and perform.”
Victoria Beckham is the first celebrity judge to join the panel among other, including Katy Perry, Joe Jonas, Mary J. Blige and Shania Twain, the new original judge to replace Abdul is Ellen DeGeneres, but she would not be available for the first series of auditions due to her schedule conflict, so these celebrity judges will be filling the shoes for her.
The next episode of new “American Idol” season 9 will be aired this Wednesday night kicking off the auditions from Atlanta, GA.
