Toyota Tundra Recall
Toyota Tundra Recall letters will be issued to the owners. In response to your recall notice you have to take your truck to one of the Toyota Dealers near you where the crossbar frame at Tundra’s rear will be inspected and if these bars have started to corrode, these will be repaired or replaced by the dealer without any charges.
Initially the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigated about Tundra pick up truck of models from 2000 to 2001, whereas Toyota investigation team expanded it up to 2003.
Toyota has iterated that use of salt on roads in the northern states during winter could be a possible cause of this kind of corrosion that affects the braking system of the vehicle. That could result in reducing the stoppage distance of the vehicle and maximizing the possibility of a crash. The corrosion could also cause the detachment of the spare wheel kept at the bottom of the truck.
The Toyota has also advised the truck owners to remove the spare wheel from the bottom of the truck unless the truck is checked at a nearby Toyota facility.
Sean Kane one of the auto safety experts have opined that it is not a kind of cosmetic problem. It is a safety problem that could lead to loss of control over vehicle and thus resulting in a crash.
