Times Square Bomb Scare
Adding to the suspicion that there is a bomb in the van was its tinted glass windows which made it difficult to look inside the van. Time Square Bomb Square prompted the partial evacuation of NASDAQ building.
A bomb squad was sent to fully examine the van. As the bomb disposal squad started its operation, initially robots were used to check the van. The camera mounted at the head of a wire provided the inside picture of the van. Nearby roads were blocked for the traffic until the danger is averted.
For the time being the visitors and employees in the nearby Nasdaq building and Conde Nast publishing were asked to evacuate the place, but as the van was cleared, the people were permitted to use the building.
Adding to the bomb scare threat was a placard on the van of Law Company, that didn’t exist.
Security in the New York have been considerably revved up as the preparation of New Year Eve security plans.
The footage shows the van parked on the road with police vehicle in front of it. Police officers are seen swarming the suspected vehicle. A little while after police officers are seen going inside the van.
The van proved to be clean and thought to have been left by some peddler.
