The Black Keys
‘The Black Keys’ is a blue genre American duo of vocalist and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. The band was formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001 and released their debut album ‘The Big Come Up’ in association with ‘Alive Records’ in 2002. The track on the album ‘I’ll Be Your Man’ was also used as the theme song for ‘Hung’, a HBO series. In 2003, the album ‘Thickfreakness’ was released followed by ‘The Moan’ in 2004.
‘The Moan’ was the band’s last work with ‘Alive Records’ as the band turned to ‘Fat Possum Records’ for the launching of their next album ‘Rubber Factory’ also in 2004. ‘Fat Possum Records’ also released their next work ‘Chulahoma’ in 2006. ‘The Black Keys’ released their 4th album ‘Magic Potion’ but this time they chose ‘Nonesuch Records’ as the album’s launchpad. Their 5th album ‘Attack & Release’ was the band’s second alliance with ‘Nonesuch Records’ and was released in 2008. In 2009 the band released ‘Blakroc’, a musical collaboration with a variety of hip hop and R&B artists.
The Black Keys have gained critical acclaim and fame since their debut album, which was praised by ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine. ‘Time’ magazine also named them one of the “10 Best Acts of 2003″.
‘The Black Keys’ have already announced their schedule for 2010 with performances at Florida in April and will feature in New York City to play at the SummerStage in Central Park.
