SWIC Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) maintained their second place in the league by securing a 90-76 victory over Lake Land thus winning Great Rivers Athletic Conference.

While Cedric Brown spent the time yelling at his boys to target the basket, SWIC seemed better at this task of attacking the basket

SWIC proved that they were able to check the common dribble penetration style as they were told by peers that it was hard to stop the Lake Land dribble penetration and SWIC just paid heed to the advice and were successful leaving Lake Land coach just yelling at his men to become more offensive while SWIC managed to win the game while playing on defensive grounds.

SWIC were able to maintain a 43-33 lead up to the halftime with easy baskets and their top scorers just missed 5 shots in first 20 minutes of the game.

While talking about their win, Harrington said that it was great won for them in the absence of Aaron Nelson and we are quite happy for securing our stay for another championship without Nelson. Harrington further added that he prepared his team for two defensive possibilities, zone defense or man to man switching and we managed to keep Lake Land away from zone playing.

Four SWIC players fell in double figure of scoring including Walter Hill with his 20 points and team high 8 rebounds. Tommy was at 18 Mykel at 16 and Kenny at 13.

Talking about balanced scoring of Blue Storm, Harrington said that it the name of their team and we run a lot of people in and out and you get tired of trying the way we play our game.
