Superbowl Kickoff Time
So, what’s the Super Bowl kick-off time? The Super Bowl XLIV will kick off at 6:28 pm Eastern Time. And as the kick-off time is approaching near, many are collecting their favorites to enjoy during the game. French fries, buckets full of pop corns, juices, crackers, cheese dips – all must be included in the food menu to enjoy during the Super Bowl. While I, myself, pile up my favorite foods on my coffee table before watching any movie or a very interesting match, I must admit that I am never able to eat them. Matches like Super Bowl or Cricket World Cup finals or any tennis match of Roger Federer keep you too much involved in the game to eat. So while you’re preparing your finger foods for tonight’s game, I must warn that you will forget everything once the Super Bowl kicks off.
While we all are anxiously waiting for the Super Bowl kick-off time to approach and for our clocks to tick 6 pm, let’s have a look at the football history and see what made Super Bowl such a big thing?
The Super Bowl is played in the first Sunday of the February every year. Before NFL announced that first Sunday of the Feb would be Super Bowl day, it had no special meaning for us. The first Sunday of February was just as dull as many other Sundays of the year – unappreciated and completely unrecognized. Personally, I think there’s so much in the name too. Super Bowl wouldn’t be such a great thing if it was given just another name containing the term ‘championship’. The name Super Bowl makes it the game what it is today. But it wasn’t the case in the beginning – One of the first few Super Bowls kicked off with partially empty stadiums, but then there was Joe Namath whose historic victory boosted the popularity of Super Bowl…and years later, Super Bowl has become an event so popular that almost every American wait for it and watch it religiously!
