Steve Czaban

Steve Czaban – One of the people who became the victims of bad politics of entertainment world.

Steve Czaban is an American radio host. He is currently affiliated with ESPN 980 where he co-hosts ‘The Sports Reporters’ with Andy Pollin. He previously hosted the ‘Steve Czaban Show’ on Fox Sports Radio which was cancelled to make give airtime to Stephen A. Smith show. Steve Czaban hosted his last radio show on December 23, 2009.

The fans of the Steve Czaban were shocked when they got to know that Fox Sports Radio has not renewed Czaban’s contract. The Steve Czaban Show got cancelled after 7 years of airing. The Show enjoyed a good listenership and it was one of the most-heard morning sports radio shows. Steve Czaban was as much hurt with the cancellation of his show as his fans were. He posted a lengthy explanation, which was later removed to be replaced by a brief and simple announcement. The original post is still available on the internet as many opportunists saved it to upload in their blogs. I recently had a chance to read the original post and I felt really bad.

Steve Czaban’s show was actually liked by many. Surely he is not as famous as Stern but his FSR show enjoyed pretty good listenership and the guy always came up with creative and clever shows.

In his original posting, which was filed under ‘Horrible and Ironic Ways (For Your Radio Show) To Die, Steve Czaban told his blog readers that his show on FSR has been cancelled and Stephen A. Smith will be his ‘permanent replacement’. He also told that his agent wanted him to announce the news in a we-mutually-decided-to-part-ways type way but Steve Czaban, who refused his agent’s suggestions, writes that he’s not good at lying and that his listeners deserve the ‘truth’.

The cancellation of Steve Czaban’s Show, and that too after 7 years of airing, shows that the wicked and funny shows are destined to die, and the entertainment industry’s big heads don’t want to give room to anyone but the mediocre entertainers.
