State of Emergency New Jersey

The slow moving snowstorm is heading towards Southern New Jersey it is expected to hit hard state wise. A state of emergency is declared in New Jersey. The slow moving storm that has been moved up to east coast is going to create a wintery mess in Garden State.

Packed with strong and heavy winds along with moisture, the weather has caused many flight cancelations and office closures and there are blizzard warnings in some parts of the state.

Highway safety crew and hospital staff is put on high alert and police is asking the drivers to stay away from driving until the weather is not clear enough.

There are expectations of blizzard during Saturday morning along with the southern stretch of the shore and snow is expected to reach 20 inches depth in coastal area and Philadelphia suburbs whereas central and northern New Jersey is less prone to this severe weather.

There would not only snowflakes but also worries of power shutdown and messy roads and ironically when Garden State was bracing this stormy weather, the federal government declared seven South Jersey counties as disaster areas for a 19-20 December storm that left broken infrastructure and roads behind it.

The disaster area declared counties include Burlington, Cumberland, Ocean, Camden, Gloucester and Salem County.

The declaration is regarded a good news by Ed Conover, Atlantic County’s deputy emergency management director, as they have not to cut other programs with the presence of that money.

Delta Airline has suspended its flights from and to Baltimore, Philadelphia, Maryland and Washington D.C.

I live in Camden county and we have had it bad this year. Two storms with 2 feet of snow with a 2 month period. At least I was able to walk to the supermarket (as I live close by) this morning.
