Sound Of Music

The Sound of Music is to reverberate at your television sets this evening at 7.p.m. ABC is airing this musical movie that has the music of sound, edelweiss, my favorite things, climb every mountain, sixteen going to seventeen, and do re mi as its songs to add to the charm of the movie.

The movie is about Von Trapp family. Navy captain Georg Von Trapp is in a problem for every governess hired by him for his seven naughty children is resented extremely. Maria joins the family as governess and children found a liking for her as she has a big heart with good sense of humor. Maria is at last accepted by the kids with all their hearts.

The inevitable comes ahead when George and Maria fell in love with each other. George Trapp is in other dilemma as he is already engaged to some Baroness.

Another twist comes in the movie when German Third Reich gained control of Austria and George Von Trapp was forced by Nazi soldiers to serve for the Germans. George Von Trapp has to choose between his love, his life and his engagement with a Baroness. He chooses to set for a long journey into Switzerland from Austria.

The 1965 movie was directed by Robert Wise. Julie Andrews (Maria) and Christopher Plummer (Captain George Von Trapp) were the lead pair. Equally talented contributions were made by Charmian Carr, Nicholas Hammond, Angela Cartwright, Debbie Turner, Duane Chase and Heather Menzies as kids of the Trapp family.
