Scott Roeder
Scott Roeder, an American who claimed that he has killed nationally known physician Dr. George Tiller, was convicted of premeditated murder. The jury found Scott Roeder guilty of murder in 37 minutes. He now faces a life sentence.
According to the details, Scott Roeder was a shuttle bus driver at an airport. Roeder had also worked for a party-rental shop and a convenience store. His case files show that he had a history of schizophrenia. Some news papers had even reported that Scott Roeder had suffered with mental illnesses from time to time, as stated by his brother. 51-years-old Scott Roeder, an opponent of abortion, killed Dr. George Tiller on the 31st of May in 2009. Roeder killed Tiller during a worship service at a church in Wichita. Tiller was serving their as an usher. Tiller was shot in the head. Reportedly, Tiller was wearing body armor for his safety as FBI warned him that anti-abortion extremists were after his life.
Scott Roeder was arrested three hours after the shooting. He was arrested from Gardner, Kansas.
In his Thursday trial, Scott Brown has confessed that he had plans to kill Dr. George Tiller as early as 1993. He also testified that before shooting him in head, he considered other ways of killing him and even thought of chopping his hands off. Roeder stated that he didn’t chose to chop his hands as he knew that way ‘Tiller the baby killer’ would still be able to train other surgeons.
