RQ 170 sentinel pictures

RQ-170 Sentinel is unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The high altitude jet powered vehicle has physical resembles with stealth B-2 bomber.

RQ-170 Sentinel pictures that got attention of the public very soon are at least hint about some secret operation by American forces. The mysterious UAV pictures that popped up on internet have been acclaimed by U.S air force. Very interestingly, it is given the name, “The Beast of Kandahar

The U.S air force official has confirmed the existence of such a system with iteration that unmanned system will provide reconnaissance; surveillance services to the forwardly deployed fighting forces.

Lockheed under Advance Development Program that has produced innovative and revolutionary reconnaissance and surveillance systems like U-2, F-117, and F-22 developed RQ-170 Sentinel.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates takes the credit for the field deployment of RQ-170 Sentinel to the requests of having a more effective reconnaissance, intelligence and surveillance system. The system also shows American air- force’s increasing dependency of unmanned aerial vehicles.

RQ-170 Sentinel is flown from Tonopah Range under reconnaissance squadron in Nevada. RQ-170 Sentinel is more of a tactical and operational system rather intelligence accumulation.

The main purpose of all UAVs remains reconnaissance for the fighting forces. RQ-170 Sentinel will add much to the capabilities of American Forces fighting in Afghanistan.

The speculations of spying on Pakistan and Iran are getting echo, as Taliban in Afghanistan have no radar system to detect or encounter RQ-170 Sentinel. With such stealth design and having sensors on wings without a tail the UAV tells more than the pictures tell.
