Rotnei Clarke

Records are meant to be broken, and the former Verdigris star Rotnei Clarke broke the record, when he finished his evening by scoring 51 points as the Hogs defeated over Alcorn State with 130-to-68. The sophomore succeeded in 13 of his 17 three-point attempts contributing a lead of 71-26 for the Arkansas in the first half. The 51 points broke the school record of 47 which was made by Martin Terry.

Arkansas guard Rotnei Clarke’s hard work paid in the shape of a big night for himself and for the audience. His coach John Pelphrey admitted that Clarke was doing hard as he practiced at Bud Walton Arena.

Jamal farmer of the Razorbacks pointed out that he has never seen such a thing in his life, and why not Clarke hit 13 of 17 shots behind the arc. With 5 suspended players Clarke gave his team a bit of healing in the backdrop of player dismissals, academic troubles, criminal investigations and many more awful things.

Clarke is reported to say that they wanted to give something to remember and talk about to their fans, the evening will be referred and talked about for the years and there were 7713 fans to tell the history to the others. The record breaking scoring of Clarke has snatched the place of Al Dillard, who was national championship team’s best shooter who had feathered 12 three-pointers in his cap. The rival’s coach also applauded the game of Clarke by attributing the remarks that he (Rotnei Clarke) was on fire and was not hitting the rim.

But as the life goes on so did the records, every time a record is made, and the efforts to break it is started. Who knows may be one day Rotnei Clarke himself would break his record. After all hard work pays.
