All this drama happened in Vatican City when a lady spectator jumped over the hurdles to knock down the Pope Benedict XVI when he was going towards the altar but the old guy got up unharmed and continues as intended to say the Christmas Eve Mass at St Peter’s.
Video recording released on Italy’s RAI state TV confirming a lady clothed in red hooded shirt jumping over the timber hurdles and speeding up towards the Pope being clouded by the bodyguards.
A spokesman of Vatican, Rev. Ciro Benedettini, told that Pope Benedict XVI was not hurt at all and got up at once after being dragged down by the lady.
The lady is said to be psychologically sick and handled to grip him by his vestments near his neckline when a bodyguard attempted to overcome the woman. She also knocked down another person, Cardinal Roger Etchegaray, who was taken to hospital for health check.
It was the subsequent time in a chain that there had been a safety violation at the Christmas Eve service and this was the most severe occurrence concerning the civic in Pope Benedict XVI’s five-year duration.
