Partridge Family Reunited But Miss Susan Dey

The cast members of ABC’s ‘The Partridge Family’ were reunited after nearly 3 decades on yesterday’s ‘The Today Show’ hosted by Matt Lauer.

The members of the family present on the show were David Cassidy, Danny Bonaduce, Brian Forster and Suzanne Crough. The atmosphere at the show was very amicable which showed that there still existed a bond of friendship between the former co-workers.

One cast member who was missed by many on the show was Susan Dey. Though no official reason was mentioned but it’s assumed she didn’t want to face Cassidy on the show. It was rumored back then that Dey had developed feelings for Cassidy but he never responded. Since the culmination of the series the co-stars haven’t talked to each other.

Tuesday’s show was part of NBC’s ‘Great TV Families Reunited’ series which will continue throughout the first week of March and was the second installment of the series.

‘The Partridge Family’ was broadcasted on ABC from 1970 to 1974. The show revolved around a widow and her five children who try to make an earning and hence keep the family together by setting on a journey as a musical family band. The role of the widow was played by Shirley Jones while Cassidy, Dey, Bonaduce, Gelbwaks and Crough played the children’s roles. The show was aired on Friday nights after ‘The Brady Brunch Show’.

Dey’s absence on the Partridge Family reunion show was similar to Adam Rich’s on ‘Eight is Enough’ reunion show. But unlike Rich whose life was troubled by scandals and controversies Dey lived a scandal- free life.
