Nick Rimando

Nick Rimando, Real Salt Lake goalkeeper saved RSL at MLS Cup final. Nick Rimando rise to the occasion by saving two crucial penalty shootouts. Nick Rimando is considered a specialist in turning away sport shots.

Real Salt Lake had gone a long way to land in this final at Qwest Field. RSL were in search of goddess of fortune to turn it to their side as usually the finals are tend to go to the loser side, if gone to penalty kicks and extra time.

Manager Jason Kreis and his team were taking long chances and their position was not up to the mark in the match as they were literally disintegrated in the middle. Javior Morales was the first to crumble down with a sprained knee against David Beckham. The clock was ticking at just 22 at that time. Then it was Will Johnson who was not having enough energy after a food poisoning attack to stand for the full time, he left the field at halftime.

Nick Rimando however was confident enough, if game goes to the extra time and penalty kicks. Nick Rimando who was named MVP for diverting two of seven shots from Galaxy, was of the view that they must win this final. Interestingly it was fifth final for Galaxy at MLS Cup that counts to six to linger on to extra time.

It was not only the confidence of Nick Rimando, but things were better after halftime at his RSL side. Clint Mathis and Ned Grabavov contributed their much needed efforts to make it possible.

All the bravado to Nick Rimando and his fellows to come up with the much needed expectations!
