News10Now has reported that Conservative Doug Hoffman will not ask for a recount of the vote. Democrat Bill Owens defeated Hoffman with a margin of 3000 votes last week in a special election in 23rd district of North County.

The fundraising letter from Doug Hoffman said that ACRON, Democratic Party, and other unions were afraid so they tempered the election but no sold evidence was offered.

On Thursday Hoffman gained a little lead over Bill Owens but still he was lagging behind by 2845 votes. The counting of 48% of absentee ballots was under way in 23rd Congressional district when the statement emerged that Hoffman will not challenge the defeat.

This is not the first time that Democrat Doug Hoffman has backed off from his position. The spokesperson on behalf of Hoffman even managed to leave a room for speculation when he iterated that a full statement will follow shortly within this week.

The election officials did not believe that Hoffman has had any case for recounting as checks and balances were in place to deal with such matters.

ACRON has also denied all the accusations from Doug Hoffman of influencing Dede Scozzafava in favor of Bill Owens. ACRON termed Hoffman as the “sore loser.
