Nelly Furtado Olympics performance was as stunning as her personality. The Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver had plenty to offer in terms of entertainment, among others the singers that graced the stage and stole the opening ceremony including Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adam and Nelly Furtado’s Olympics performances.

Over 60,000 people were present to witness the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic 2010 yesterday on Friday’s 12th Feb, 2010 and they were not disappointed as they were treated with the spectacle including a huge electrical bear and Nelly Furtado’s performance.

The Canadian native Nelly Furtado born in 1978 is not only a singer, but a songwriter, record producer and an actress as well. The British Columbia, Canada born Nelly Furtado started off her music career with underground DJ’s and rappers, but did not succeed in launching her singing career. She also contributed her vocals in an album by “Plains of Fascination” (a hip hopĀ group).

She made several attempts to launch her singing career during 1996 to 1999, but it was not until 2000 when she released her debut album named “Whoa, Nelly”. She received Grammy Award for a single featured in her debut album by the name of “I’m like a Bird”.

Nelly Furtadohas sold over 20 million copies of her albums so far and considered as one of the bet Canadian female singers of today.

Nelly Furtado sang “Turn off the Lights” at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.
