MLK Day 2010

The MLK Day 2010 was celebrated with great enthusiasm today in U.S. The MLK Day 2010 marks the 81st birth day for civil rights crusader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The 18 January is dedicated as MLK Day and this year 2010 it has been celebrated with exuberance, the day celebrates a leader’s effort for the civil rights in the country. The MLK “Martin Luther King” Day is an official federal holiday.

MLK “Martin Luther King” realized the strength of services for its power to build a firmer community by bringing common people in pursuit of mutual goals.

MLK once said, the persistent and most pressing question is “what a person does for other?”.

Today after 81 years of his birth the American community without any difference of Black and White gathered in churches and community centers to honor the great MLK “Martin Luther King”, the person, the preacher and a great civil rights crusader, who always preached and believed in working together as one community.

The great civil rights leader is known to America and American without any color difference as the icon of civil rights. He was assassinated in 1968 in Memphis on 4th of April.

The great leader MLK “martin Luther King” was awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but sadly after his death in 1977. He was posthumously awarded with Congressional Gold Medal too in 2004. The MLK “Martin Luther King” day was established in 1986, 18-years- after his death as a Federal holiday in U.S.
