Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery in of 12 states, will conduct a draw at 10 p.m. CDT Friday in Atlanta, Ga., for the $333 million prize and reports tell that Friday’s jackpot will be the second largest in history, and if no one wins it will increase to the largest ever jackpot of $430 million. The New York Mega Millions branch said expected ticket sale will eclipse approximately $1 million per hour starting with the noon hour on Friday.
The last two largest Mega Millions jackpot winners who had won $390 million, in Georgia and New Jersey on March 6, 2007 and again $330 million in Maryland, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia just after five months on Aug. 31, 2007.
Money distribution from the sales of Mega Millions tickets is as 50 percent will go for winners, 35 percent for government services in the member states and 15 percent will go for retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. The prizes will be given to the winner in 26 annual payments or a one-time cash option. For Friday’s lucky draw; cash option was worth at least $210.4 million.
