Marlo Thomas is an outreach director of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Marlo Thomas is going to preside over Closing Bell ceremony of NASDAQ to start the sixth annual “Thanks and Giving” campaign launched by St. Jude Children’s Research hospital.

A campaign that aims at fund-raising for many catastrophic childhood diseases including pediatric cancer. The campaign joins hands with major brands and respected businesses to raise funds.

St. Jude is the only recognized pediatric cancer center by National Cancer Institute. The center shares its findings about diseases worldwide.

Eventually no one is denied for treatment whether or not he is able to pay. The treatment at St. Jude is free of cost.

If you are a believer in hope like late Danny Thomas was, the best way to make a change in the lives of those who are suffering from such diseases is to donate your share in the campaign that is starting soon.

Your contribution will help treating more than 5,500 children each year. Diseases like lymphoblastic leukemia that is one of the most common cancers of childhood is now curable at St. Jude and 90 percent of such cases are treated at this hospital.

According to Marl Thomas there is wonderful progress taking place in the field of human genome at St. Jude and according to findings of clinicians there, disease like lymphoblastic leukemia could be treated with out radiation.

Marlo iterated that they have some 50 plus companies now as their sponsors but they need to raise around $700 million to meet their needs at the hospital. She described herself lean and mean in the sense that from the every donated dollar 84 cents go to hospital. An affordable health care was her father’s dream and he was urged to build St. Jude at Boston but then an accident involving an American- African kid who died only for the reason that there was no emergency room where that kid could be taken to, St. Jude was built in Memphis.
