Mark Teahen

The baseball player and a baseman of first ranks Mark Teahen came to limelight when rumors about his trade surfaced. The player said he had heard the rumors that it was Red Sox but might be the whisperers had the wrong Sox.

The word is going on as that Mark is going to be traded to the White Sox in exchange of Chris Getz and Josh Field.

Both clubs have not confirmed the reports which were surfaced firstly on New York Daily News and then on the Chicago Sun-Times Web site. The public relation department of the Royals and Chicago’s director of media relations did not confirmed the news. Interestingly both the clubs did not deny the deal either.

Teahen who came from A’s in 2004 to Royals as third baseman was much in rumors in the previous season too. This year he started playing as second baseman but soon replaced to third baseman to replace injured Alex Gordon. He batted 271 with 12 homers and 50 RBIs in this season.

Apparently the trade seems sensible because Teahen will add more versatility and depth to the Sox lineup at first place and secondly he fits the profile of the gap hitter too. If there would be some reservations that would be from Royals side and not from the White Sox as White Sox is not afraid of doing business with its opponent in American League.

Mark Teahen who made $3.575 million this year, is expected to be drawing the salary in the range of $ 5 million if the deal is finalized.

The player told that he had not debated for being traded but right from the first of the off-season this year the rumors caught me and I am hoping some more rumors ahead this off-season.
