Lee Corso Stroke

The news everywhere was that Lee Corso suffered a minor stroke as if he has a bout opf common cold. When it is stroke, it is bound to make some brain cells dead. And in the case of brain that ‘some’ means a lot. On May 16 as Lee Corso landed on Heathrow he was no longer the former himself. As he tried to talk he could only speak of meaningless gibberish. His tongue was not capable of supporting his former tone.

Lee Corso stroke transformed a nonstop talkative person into a silent contemplative one. Yet Lee Corso considers himself among some of the extremely lucky ones to have come out of it without any disability. The stroke effected his right side. Corso told that if it was some physical injury he would have exercised rigorously and it would have gone, however it was different in case of stroke. He told that the brain has its own healing process and that is a very slow one. He had to learn to write with his right hand again exactly as a child learns to speak. One word at a time.

Almost seven months have passed since Lee Corso experienced stroke, he is all ready to start again. For Lee Corso his voice was his biggest asset and at one point it seemed that stroke has snatched that asset.

As he started speaking again it was obvious that he hasn’t recovered fully. ESPN is not going at full gear with him right now and I think that , that exactly is the way to help him recover at his own pace.
