Kraft Foods
Kraft foods previously offered $17bn for Cadbury and the British Chocolate company turned it down as the Cadbury’s management wasn’t happy with the offer and they called the offer as an Insult.
Well, it is still an open game as Kraft Foods still needs to persuade the shareholders of Cadbury to accept the deal and the Kraft Food’s competitor and rivalry Hershey has still the chance till 25th January 2010 to offer a bigger bid to turn down the acceptance bid offered by Kraft Foods.
Cadbury brand is one of the most famous chocolate brands among the other brands around the world and many customers are not happy with the Kraft Foods takeover. They are worried about the brand recognition and freedom of the brand at the same time they are having the fear of losing jobs in future that has been created by Cadbury.
Kraft Foods is world’s second largest food group after Nestle, the company was came into existence back in 1903. James L Kraft was the man who started his business selling a cheese in Chicago and in 1914; the company started making the cheese of its own brand.
Well, there is no doubt about the credibility and market position of Kraft Foods but still Cadbury has the leading position around the world by its taste and brand name, so will the new management be able to maintain the same great taste for the customers or it will use the strategy to eliminate the Cadbury from the market in near future to get the maximum share.
