Kathryn Grayson Dies at 88
Kathryn Grayson, born on 9th February, 1922, was a famous American actress and operatic soloist. Unlike other MGM stars she wasn’t born with a golden spoon in her mouth. She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in a middle class family “The Hedrick”. Kathryn Grayson was best known for her memorable roles in classic films like Anchors Aweigh, Kiss Me Kate and Showboat. Her acting career was originated in 1940 right after her contract with MGM. As she was trained as an opera singer since her childhood, most of her films were musical. After many progressive years in musical films she turned towards theatre work in 1962 where she got huge fame through numerous musicals plays like the highly praised one called “Camelot” which was initiated in 1962 and lasted till 1964.
During her times in Hollywood she married to the actor John Shelton at first. After that she married to an actor & singer Johnnie Johnston from whom she had a daughter named Patricia Kathryn Johnston. Both of her marriages ended at divorce.
On 17th February, 2010 Kathryn Grayson was found died in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles, California. Although she has died but she will remain alive as the uncrowned queen of 1940′s and 50′s in the hearts of her million fans.
