JT Taylor
JT Taylor was a school teacher and use to sing in night club before becoming a celebrity of music industry.
JT Taylor joined the band “Kool & The Gang” when he was 25-year-old in 1978. He became the lead singer for the R&B/funk Band in the very next year. While working with JT Taylor the band released an album with the name “Ladies’ Night”, while Taylor arose to fame because of his amazing voice, the album first reached gold and then platinum status.
Eumir Deodato who produced the album “Ladies’ Night” for the R&B/funk Band, changed their status to a pop group and continued producing with the group. Both produced 4 gold and platinum albums over the period of three years.
JT Taylor left the band in 1988 to pursue a solo career. In 1989 he released his first solo album “Master of the Game”, while working with MCA Records. It was his debut solo album in which he hit the top charts “All I want is forever”, it was a duet which he sang with Regina Belle.
Two other singles from his debut album “8 Days a Week” and “Sister Rosa” received a fair share of appreciation.
His second solo album “Feel the Need” made its way in the market in 1991, but only two of his singles, out of which one was a duet were a minor hit.
JT Taylor re-joined the band “Kool & The Gang” in 1995, but their latest (2007) release “Still Kool” does not contains any number in JT’s voice.
“A Brand New Me” (2000) was the fourth solo album released by JT Taylor. Since 1990 he is on world tour. He released a single “Winner” as homage to President Obama during his election campaign.
JT Taylor is currently working on his new album.
