Jason West, Infinity Ward’s President Gets Fired

The President of Infinity Ward and director of one of the most popular games ever, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been relieved of his duties.

The reason given by Activision of firing Jason West alongside his colleague and co-founder of Infinity Ward, Vince Zampella, was ‘breach of contract’ and ‘insubordination’.

Having said that, Activision Blizzard hasn’t so far provided any more details regarding the dismissing of its two of the senior most employees and even the Infinity Ward Chief, Robert Bowling, is keeping his silence on the issue. He’s most likely to be still investigating the matter and is in constant touch with the Activision authorities.

Meanwhile West’s profile on the internet provides confirmation to the news. West’s LinkedIn profile mentions that he is unemployed when his status on Face Book states “Jason West is drinking. Also, no longer employed.” On the other hand Zampella’s LinkedIn profile states that he is still working as a Studio Head at Infinity ward.

The news surfaces after a series of tense meetings held at Infinity Ward. Insiders claim that even West and Zampella too participated in yesterday’s meeting. After coming to the conclusion of the meeting West and Zampella weren’t seen on the campus instead a few bouncers appeared out of nowhere outside the premises.

Infinity Ward was founded in 2002 and is located at Encino, California. The company’s rights were acquired by Activision, another video game developer, in 2003. Infinity Ward is mostly famous for its Call of Duty franchise.
