James Fortune graduated at Kemper High School- Sugar Land, Texas. James Fortune attended the State University California. “You Survived” was the debut album from James Fortune in 2004. His hit single from You Survived brought him American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers Rhythm and Soul Music Awards. This track topped the most popular Gospel list at number 2 in the nation and it still is enjoying being the top seven soul songs past three years.
American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) awarded James Fortune with the writers’ award for You Survived. Interestingly FIYA has been snatching the nomination for Texas Gospel Youth & Young Adult Choir for consecutive four years.
The latest album from FIYA, “The Transformation” was released on 22nd January in 2008 and its single,” I Trust You” has proved itself a record breaking spiritual song as it remained at the top of the list on Gospel Radio fro 25 weeks. The song is at number 30 on Urban AC charts and it is at number one place in WBLS, New York.
James Fortune and FIYA have been blessed with some God gifted qualities of writing and singing and no doubt, James Fortune is a name of recognition in the world of soul and religious music.
