The 46-year-old Jack Del Rio has remained a star player at USC but has never coached the team. After Peter Carroll’s departure from USC, rumors were circulating on the internet that USC has been considering Del Rio as Carroll’s replacement. But Jack Del Rio has declined any such news and has clearly said that all that hype is ‘manufactured’.
Many news sources reported that the Jaguars are not happy withJack Del Rio and that in he might be fired in the meeting with Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver. According to the latest news, Wayne Weaver and Jack Del Rio did meet today and the outcome of the meeting is continuity in Del Rio’s contract with the Jaguars. The latest reports say that Weaver wants stability in the team and has decided to keep Jack Del Rio the coach of the team.
Jack Del Rio has three years left on his contract with Jaguars and if Weaver fires him, Jaguars will have to pay $15 million to him as buyout for his remaining contract.
