Giant Squids in California

Ginat Squids in California waters have given a new venturing opportunity to catch the huge fish. These giant squids have swum into Californian waters at Newport Beach and said to weight from 20 to 60 pounds.

Few of the beach goers noticed these giant squids last week and there are reports that sport anglers booked twilight fishing trips to catch these fish.

According to Robert Woodbury, these sport anglers belong to two categories. One category is of anglers that crave for this pricey delicacy and other others are from the category that want to interact with this feistier fish that has come to Californian beaches and they played their own sport of blowing ink on everybody that passed near them (Squids blow ink as a tactic of protection when feel themselves in danger). He further added that fishing squids is not like catching other fish as these fish try to hide themselves in the ink that they blow on you to get away from the danger thus giving you a bit of more challenge than the other ordinary fish.

These giant squids are also known as jumbo fish and jumbo flying squid, they can reach the weight of around 100 pounds and a length of six feet.

The giant squids not only hit the Californian waters, they were spotted at San Diego, Oregon and Washington.

The fishingmen were happy about these squids as

they have been spotted during a quite time of the fishing season. In September last year a giant squid of 19 feet length was caught in Gulf of Mexico and it weighed around 103 pounds.

Orange County sports fishing businesses were celebrating the arrival of the squid during what is normally a fairly quiet time of the year.

But the giant squid is not unknown off the coast of America.

In September a record-breaking 19ft-long squid, weighing 103 pounds, was caught off the Gulf of Mexico.
