Eve Ensler fighting against violence on Girls

A lot of awareness about brutality against women has been raised through Eve Ensler’s worldwide association known as V-Day. She has been fighting for this great cause for last ten years and now only 30% of ‘Teenage Girls’ rest in the category of girls who have ever been a victim of emotional, corporal or oral abuse from their dates. According to an estimate by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this is the least recorded figure ever.

Eve Ensler, born on 25th May, 1953 in New York , is a Jewish from her father’s side. She is a famous American play writer. She is also a social activist and feminist as well. She is best known for her play “The Vagina Monologues” which was later called as “The Stan” by some Germantown residents in 2003.

At her childhood she had been physically and sexually abused by her own father. She completed her graduation in 1975 from Middlebury College. After that she got married with Richard McDermott in 1978 and divorced aw well after 10 years.

During her appearance in “The Early Show” she said “Violence on young girls is far beyond than our thoughts”.

Ensler said, by travelling around the glob she felt that every women, doesn’t matter from where she belong, has to do what someone else wants her to do. It is a girl’s duty to obey the commands silently and it doesn’t matter at all whether the commands are coming from the culture or the religion or the parents or boyfriend of that girl.
