Who doesn’t love Doritos? But probably their Super Bowl 2010 commercial would increase the number of Doritos lovers.
The cheese flavored corn chips Doritos launched a perfect commercial campaign in the Super Bowl 2010. Best use of the fact that some 90 million people were watching their commercial and a great use of their money. Doritos was created by Arch West for the Frito-Lay company, an affiliate of PepsiCo. The brand was created in 1964, and since then it’s entertaining America with its crispy cheese-flavored corn chips. The Super Bowl commercial of Doritos once again reminded us that a wise marketing campaign is really important. Doritos’ Super Bowl 2010 commercial is one of the most talk-about commercials launched by the brand after 1995. Doritos Super Bowl 1995 commercial featured two politicians who actually made us think politically. Then in 1998, Doritos launched a commercial during Super Bowl which featured former Miss America Ali Landry. This ad too was an immediate hit, and Ali Landry became famous as the ‘The Doritos Girl’. Not just that, the lady garnered a 3-year contract with Doritos.
For last many years, Doritos is airing fan created commercials during Super Bowls and the winner creator gets a lucrative sum of money from Doritos. In 2010 too, Doritos aired three fan created commercials during the Super Bowl. If any of the ads appears on one of the top three positions on Ad Meter, the winner will be awarded $5 million. Also, each commercial creator would receive $1million award.
