Clinton Bush Haiti Fund
It seems like political rivalry has also crumbled down with hundreds of buildings fall after Haiti’s 7.0 magnitude earthquake, as President Obama brings the former two Presidents Clinton and Bush onboard to collect funds for Haiti relief work. According to the official website of ‘Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund’, the former two presidents have partnered with President Obama to help in the Haiti relief work.
After a meeting in the Oval Office, the former presidents announced to flank Mr. Obama in the American government’s ongoing efforts to help Haiti rebuild and reclaim their lives. Standing behind the podium in the Rose Garden flanked by the former two presidents, Mr. Obama announced the foundation of ‘Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund’ and urged the Americans to ‘do their part’ in helping the Haitian people.
In his message to Americans, ex-President George W. Bush says that a number of people wanted to donate blankets and water but at this time the best way to help the people of Haiti is to contribute funds.
Ex-President Bill Clinton, in his opening statement for the ‘Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund’, says that he has a personal attachment with Haiti. He said that the hotels where he stayed in Haiti are now a part of rubble and the church building and the cathedral church where he sat with his wife Hillary years ago had completely collapsed.
But together we can help the people of Haiti to ‘escape their history and build a better future’, he added while thanking President Obama for giving him a chance to contribute through ‘Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund’. In addition to ‘Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund’, Former President Bill Clinton is also working as the official UN envoy for Haiti and his wife, Hillary Clinton, is also in the frontlines for helping Haitian victims of earthquake.
A separate website has been dedicated for the ‘Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund’ and whoever wants to contribute any funds can do so by visiting that website.
UN has also released an appeal for funds and has requested people to help them by cash.
