Australia Movie story

Australia is an epic drama set in the back ground of World War II. The film went on to earn record revenues. Baz Luhrmann at his best, the film was nominated for Oscar. Nicole Kidman is an elite living in England. Her husband owns a large farm and cattle in Australia. As the earning from the cattle is dwindling Lady Ashley – Nicole Kidman wants her husband to sell the cattle. She visits Australia, only to find that her husband has been killed before her arrival.

She develops affection for an aboriginal boy named Nullah. Nullah is the one who tells Lady Ashley that it is Fletcher who is stealing cattle and plotting evil against her. As the news reaches Fletcher that Nullah is disclosing secrets, he starts threatening Nullah and his family.

Nullah’s mother is killed while saving Nullah but Lady Ashley is there to soothe Nullah by singing songs to him. The farm drover – Hugh Jackman is on Lady Ashley’s side. Both Ashley and drover plan to drive the cattle to Darwin. As the interaction between the drover and Lady Ashley grows, the baroness falls in love and they both marry.

As the time passes the relationship between two grows sour, and drover goes away, intending never to return to the farm. Lady Ashley in her turn has decided to sell the farm to Fletcher. As the deal is maturing Japanese attack Darwin. Hearing that lady Ashley has died in the attack drover returns to find Lady safe and sound.

Nullah is freed from the captivity and three reunite.

Luhrman directed the film also wrote the screen play and lyrics of many songs in the film. One of the songs was sung by Elton John.
