Anthony Baye
Police and investigators charged Antony P. Baye with two counts of murder. In addition to the murder charges, Anthony Baye has also been charged with one count of arson and one count of armed burglary. The charges are made in relation to the fire at 17 Fair St. in Northampton on December 27. The fire took the lives of 81-year-old Paul Yeskie Sr. and his 39-year-old son Paul Jr. A statement was released from the office of Northwestern District Attorney which revealed details of the Baye’s charges but didn’t tell what facts provided evidence against Baye. Anthony Baye was taken to Hampshire District Court on Monday where he faced arraignment on charges. Anthony P. Baye is being held at the police station without the right to bail. The 25-year-old Anthony Baye was arrested from 85 Hawley St. A woman who responded to a call at 85 Hawley St. declined to comment.
The fire which took lives of two men is one of the recent series of suspicious fires. The series of suspicious fires engulfed the Northampton residents with fear. Law enforcement agencies set up special task force to investigate into the matter.
Neighbors have expressed mixed reactions over the arrest of Anthony Baye. Angie Gregory, a local resident, said that she was very happy that they were safe and said that her second thoughts were about Anthony Baye and what did he want? Anthony Baye’s family has been living in the area for many years and the neighbors expressed their surprise that a person who had lived in the area for a long time was held responsible for these criminal acts.
